  • (Dec 7) St Augustine 40TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES - Enjoy Christmas in Historic St. Augustine, the St. Augustine Garden Club’s annual tour that will showcase homes around Maria Sanchez Lake, the bay and South St George Street. These beautiful homes were constructed in 1890, 1905, 1920s and more recent years. All decorations and floral arrangements throughout the tour will be composed of natural materials designed and hand crafted by members of The Garden Club of St. Augustine. In addition, your ticket includes a delightful tea at the Coastal Community Center which has plenty of parking. Visit our Christmas store where quality-crafted items made by Garden Club members will be available for purchase.   • Dec 6) AN EVENING OF BRITISH ISLE MUSIC in St Augustine Colonial Spanish Quarter- Find out what the British did for night-time entertainment when they occupied St. Augustine 1763 to 1784. The fun begins at 8 p.m. at the St. Augustine's Spanish Quarter Museum on St. George Street behind the Taberna Café. Entertainment will be provided by Ken Bloom, The Bilge Rats & more!   • (Dec 6) St Augustine WINE FOR THE HOLIDAYS - Continuing in the annual tradition of the past several years,”Wine for the Holidays” is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. in Government House’s Sala de Montiano and Courtyard. The party will ring in the holiday season with an array of hors d’oeuvres, wines, and spiced eggnog, providing the prefect location to watch the Grand Illumination and the British Night Watch. The evening will be highlighted by the colorful ceremony of colonial militia re-enactors assembled on St. George Street who, to the sounds of fife and drum, march to the City Gate and back, before firing their weapons in a “Volley of Joy.” Location: Government House - St. George Street Hours: 6 to 9 p.m. 904-825-5033
  • (Dec 1) St Agustine Beach SURF ILLUMINATION LIGHTING CEREMONY - Light up your evenings when the Surf Illumination complements the seasonal lighting of A1A Beach Boulevard. The event includes the ceremonial lighting of the seasonal tree by the Mayor. Food and beverages are offered by local restaurants and many local arts and crafts vendors provide convenient shopping for the holiday season. Santa, musical performers and traditional carolers make it fun for all. This season’s lighting will be expanded to illuminate four buildings and most of the trees at Pier Park, creating St. Augustine Beach’s winter wonderland.   • (Dec 5-7) British Encampment Held in conjunction with the St Augustine British Nightwatch. Encampment on the North Green of the fort grounds. Open from 9am to dusk, showing the British Soldiers life in the field and equipment used in the 18th Century.   • (Dec 20) 18TH CENTURY CHRISTMAS CAROLING in St Augustine - Relive the wonderful and rich history of St. Augustine at Christmastime with an evening of Family Fun. The 18th Century Christmas Caroling will begin with a musical prelude of Christmas music on a hammered dulcimer and violin in the center of the Plaza de la Constitucian at 6:30 P.M. Song sheets with the familiar words to 10 Christmas Carols written before the 1800's will be provided. Candles and Songbooks will be available. The singing of the carols and the procession down St. George Street will begin at 7 p.m. and will end at the Castillo de San Marcos where a Merry Christmas and good night will be wished for all.   • (Dec 20) St Augustine CASTILLO DE SAN MARCOS HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE - Celebrate the holiday season with an evening visit to the Castillo de San Marco National Monument. The Castillo will be open from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will feature live musical performances. The upper gun decks will be open to the public for viewing of the city’s Nights of Lights from the fortress’ battlements.   • (Dec 20)ST. AUGUSTINE’S LAS POSADAS CELEBRATION Saturday, December 15, 2007 Las Posadas, a traditional Spanish candlelight procession, will begin at the Basilica at 6 pm Saturday evening. Participants are encouraged to bring their own candles. The procession led by Mary and Joseph will parade up San Marco Ave. ending at the Mission of Nombre De Dios with a live nativity scene, live music, free refreshments, and family activities.
  • (Dec 31)St Augustine Beach Blast 2007 - Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off & New Years Eve Fireworks Show Fire and Ice will follow in the tradition of a down home Chili cook-off 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm --Chili from a variety of St. Augustine’s finest restaurants will be offered to the public through out the day and be judged by a panel of local judges with a winner emerging as the Best in St. Augustine.
