(Oct 18-10) 13th Annual Greek Festival Friday, Annual Greek Festival The Tenth Annual Greek Festival hosted by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will be held October 12-14th at the Special Events Field. Greek foods, pastries and beverages available. Enjoy entertainment with live Greek music by the Hellenic Band and dancing by the Nisiotes Greek Dance Troupe.
(Oct 9) The Eighth Annual Italian festival in St Augustine, sponsored by Sons of Italy Lodge No. 2780, will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at the St. Augustine Beach pier pavilion. St. Augustine, FL - Experience an 18th century funeral as the St. Augustine Historical Society presents “Death in the Oldest House,” a special evening program about funeral and mourning customs practiced during St. Augustine’s colonial period. Library manager Charles Tingley will speak, and museum docents will interpret living tableaux depicting the funeral of an infant son of Tomás González and his wife Francisca (1727) and the funeral of Joseph Peavett, husband of Mary (María) Evans (1786). (Oct 21) Indians of the Estuary Kayak Tour in St Augustine - discover the life ways of the Timucuan Indians and their relationship to the land that they loved. Come along on a leisurely paddle through one of Northeast Florida's most beautiful landscapes. Explore with a professional naturalist/kayak guide and enjoy stories about the Timucuans and the important role the Matanzas Estuary played in their everyday lives.
